Perry Mandera has been in the shipping industry for over three decades. He owns and operates The Custome Companies, Inc. which is based in Northlake Illinois (https://www.crunchbase.com/person/perry-mandera). One of the organizations that he is a professional member of is the Illinois State Crime Commission (ISCC). Due to his work for the ISCC, he has twice been honored by them. The first time took place in 2010 when he was presented with the Bishop Sheil Award. Then, in 2011, this organization named him as their Citizen of the Year.
The ISCC is a nonprofit that has a partnership with the Police Athletic League. The goal of this partnership is to reduce crime in Chicago and its surrounding communities. They also seek to reduce juvenile delinquency rates and build opportunities for positive interaction between police officers and the communities they serve. Additionally, the ISCC gives training to police officers on how to interact with the public.
It was in 1986 that Perry Mandera started his shipping company. He also had another company prior to this that he had opened in 1980 and then sold in 1986. During this time he also served a term in the 26th Ward of Chicago as their Republican Ward Committeeman. His leadership at The Custom Companies has led to it employing hundreds of people. His firm also generates more than $200 million a year in annual revenues.
Beyond his role at The Custom Companies, Perry Mandera is also very involved in the community where he seeks to improve other people’s lives (Chicago.Curbed). Most of his charitable contributions go to causes for children such as youth organizations. One year he donated 6,500 winter coats meant for children from low-income households in Chicago and the counties surrounding this city. These coats, along with all of the others collected, where then delivered in his company’s vehicles.
Perry Mandera became married in 1989 and they have two children. Over the course of their growing up he spent his time coaching some of their teams including the sports of baseball, football, and basketball. He was also responsible for coaching a boxer that ended up competing in the 1992 Olympics.
