Norka Luque is a musician who was born in Caracas, Venezuela, on February 7 of ’86 and can attribute most of her career’s success to Emilio Estefan, a producer in the Latin music industry. Norka’s initial involvement with the music industry occurred at age 8, recording aspects of Shakira Anthology. She made her solo debut, translating as “As You Do It,” in 2011, earning her “Artist of the Year” from “Premios Lo Nuetro,” under its female pop singer category. Rather than sit on her laurels and risk being thought of a one-hit wonder, Norka released her second single a year later. “Milagro,” meaning “miracle” in Spanish, stayed on the 2012 music charts for 14 weeks. Unlike Norka’s first single, Milagro was remixed into several arrangements, including the salsa, dance and urban genres.
Much like her education, Norka’s musical stylings have reached beyond her native Venezuela. Various music scenes within the United States and Puerto Rico have also caught on to her uplifting lyrical messages, with the “Milagro’s English language dance remix making it onto the Billboard charts. Beyond her solo career, Norka was a member of the French alt group “Bad Moon Rising” while attending university in Europe. Currently, Norka runs her own studio, “NorkaMusic Productions LLC,” based in Miami, Florida; the city where she really got into the professional side of the music industry.
